Expanding Our Leadership Team
In order to best position ourselves for continued growth and success, Antunes has named Dan Hartlein as president. Glenn Bullock will remain as CEO.
Hartlein joins Antunes after more than 14 years as executive vice president of Minneapolis-based Twin City Fan Companies Ltd. and COO of the Clarage division.
“I am honored to join the leadership team of such a respected, industry-leading company,” said Hartlein. “I look forward to working alongside my fellow team members and our partners to continue Antunes’ commitment to excellence and build on 60 years of providing solutions to drive success for every customer.”
As president, Hartlein’s primary role will be to help Antunes continue to grow — working closely with Glenn Bullock and engaging with the product development, sales/marketing, operations, finance and HR teams on their respective initiatives.

Antunes and Einstein Bros. Bagels—A Winning Partnership
Antunes has recently completed a national roll-out of our Egg Stations for Einstein Bros. Bagels.
“Through market research and focus groups, Einstein Bros Bagels found that “fresh” was a strong trend and that there was an increased industry focus on having a fresher, more health-conscious menu,” said Tony Vassos, director of product management & marketing for Antunes. “With this focus on fresh, they were looking to transition away from their previous cooking method — using a high-powered microwave and polycarbonate bowls — which is where the Antunes Egg Station comes in.”
Today, the Egg Stations are used to cook both shelled eggs and liquid egg whites for the chain’s variety of egg sandwiches. Read more in this press release.
Egg Stations: Allowing Customers to Serve Freshly Cooked Eggs
Breakfast is increasingly the most promising daypart for today’s restaurants, which means freshly cooked eggs are making a more regular appearance on operators’ menus.
Because of this increased popularity, operators are faced with the challenges of handling large crowds, serving extended hours and maintaining quality and consistency on the line.
Antunes’ Egg Stations offer a reliable way to cook eggs to order using steam and heat. With multiple configurations and a range of nonstick egg rings, this dedicated piece of equipment cooks eggs to complement any menu item — from circles for muffin sandwiches to natural-shaped for artisan-style sandwiches.
Watch this video to see how the Egg Station frees up grill space and even eliminates cross-contamination.
McDonald's Awards Antunes for Sustainability Efforts
Antunes has been recognized by McDonald’s as part of the chain’s 2016 Supplier Energy Efficiency Challenge (SEEC). We were honored with the “Energy Leadership in Kitchen Equipment” award for delivering innovation and energy savings with the rollout of a new bun toaster to the McDonald's system.
“Antunes not only made great strides in reducing energy consumption, but also reduced labor costs significantly,” said Jeff Cook, senior director of innovation with McDonald's.
In addition to the new bun toaster, Antunes also completed a roll-out of our Egg Stations to the leading chain — in support of their all-day breakfast initiative — providing them with faster, fresher and more consistent results for their breakfast sandwiches.

Antunes Makes a Splash with Annual Golf Outing
Since 2006, Antunes has been partnering with the nonprofit organization Splash to make a lasting difference around the world. Antunes’ reliable water filtration systems provide the necessary means to generate clean water, utilizing Splash’s established networks to complete the installation and ongoing management.
On September 9, Antunes held our annual golf outing, the proceeds of which benefit Splash. We were proud to donate $47,000 to assist them in their efforts to continue bringing clean water to children around the world.
